SLO man arrested for growing cannabis in his home

San Luis Obispo police officers arrested a 26-year-old man last week for allegedly turning his home and garden into illegal cannabis cultivation, police said.

In 2020, officials charged Spencer Jefferson with illegally growing marijuana at his home on Block 2400 of Cima Court. Jefferson had turned the entire interior of the home and back yard into an illegal cultivation and manufacturing facility.

After officers received several complaints that Jefferson was again illegally growing cannabis in his home, officers obtained a search warrant and opened a two-month investigation.

Officials arrested Jefferson last week with warrants from the 2020 investigation and asked the SLO District Attorney’s Office to investigate the current illegal activity.
