“Hydroponics has a foreseeable future in every home”
“Aerospring’s mission is to make fresh products available to everyone by developing versatile and efficient hydroponics products that can be used in home and commercial settings,” said Mark Newton, chief operating officer, Aerospring Hydroponics.
Aerospring Hydroponics is a Singapore-based agtech company developing space-saving and modular growing systems that allow anyone to grow fresh fruits and vegetables, be it in a small apartment, balcony, or office. Because it is modular, multiple Aerospring products can be installed in the same room to increase production as needed.
“We have developed a slim, modular vertical garden system that is easy to assemble and maintain, and that fits into the smallest of spaces,” says Mark. The company received its first U.S. patent in 2020.

Developed for indoor or outdoor use
Aerospring has developed its vertical garden system for both indoor and outdoor use, with the indoor system being a 2-in-1 convertible system with a height of 187 cm and a width of 85 cm. This system can be used outdoors during the summer months and then brought indoors in the colder months by adding an indoor kit with professional LED strips and highly reflective tent material to keep the extra light in the growing area.
The standard outdoor system is 159 cm high and 64.5 cm wide. Aerospring’s standard indoor and outdoor system can grow up to 27 plants on 1 m2. The company also developed the Aerospring Pro outdoor system, which can hold up to 36 plants.
Further features of the Aerospring vertical garden system are the integration of WiFi-connected timers for irrigation and lighting, easy-to-remove grow cups, a strong wheelbase for mobility, a hexagonal shape for maximum light exposure outdoors and a quiet water pump.
Indoor and outdoor option
“We have sold over 3,000 Aerospring vertical gardening kits since our launch in 2016 and we continue to seek ways to improve the products and offer functional design, high performance and a great user experience,” explains Mark.
Aerospring Hydroponics believes that hydroponics systems for home use can be assessed based on three main criteria: productivity, maintenance, and ease of cleaning. According to Mark, Aerospring’s systems excel in all three areas while offering their customers continuous support from social media communities.
“Our systems are designed to give our customers the confidence that they are looking for a highly productive garden that is easy to maintain and will work for many years. We believe in empowering our customers by eliminating the need for a subscription and providing lots of guidance through our social communities, ”explains Mark.
The demand for hydroponic kits for the home skyrocketed during the pandemic
As Mark and numerous other agtech companies noted, the pandemic was a major contributor to a surge in consumer demand for home-grown products like Aerospring’s vertical gardens. The company has shipped its products to North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania.
While people may return to work and spend less time at home than in the early waves of the pandemic, Aerospring Hydroponics expects the demand for home-grown products to continue to grow as consumers become increasingly concerned about sustainability, food safety and safety are concerned.
“Consumers are more aware of our global climate crisis, sustainability issues and issues with our food chain, including food safety,” says Mark. “We assume that hydroponics will become more mainstream in the foreseeable future, with a hydroponic system in every home.”
